Winter Woes Lead To Water Hike In Greensburg

first_imgGreensburg residents will likely pay more for water in April. City officials say the hike is due to the harsh winter preventing them from getting meter readings the last few months.According to the Greensburg Daily News, some of meters have not been checked since December due to the snow and ice accumulation.Officials had to send out estimated water bills when they were unable to read the meter, forcing them to now send a bill for the appropriately adjusted amount. The average Greensburg household could see an increase of $15 to $25 to their bill, the newspaper reported. If the bill is substantially higher contact the utility office at (812) 663-5621.The cold snowy winter had residents remaining indoors more often than usual and kept children home from school, which can also be contributing factors to an increased water bill.last_img
