B&H Handball Players in Barrage for Sixth Time

first_imgThe B&H handball team beat Estonia yesterday (28:26) before the end of the qualifying round for the World Cup 2015 in Qatar. With this win, they ensured their first place in the fifth group and qualified for the barrage (additional qualifications).The best players in the B&H handball team have never before played in the finals of one of the biggest international competitions. They came close for the European Championship three times and two times for the World Championships, but fell short all five times in the final rounds.For the European Championship in 2002 in Sweden, they lost against Denmark. Four years later at the European Championship in Switzerland, they lost against Norway, and for the European Championship in Norway, the Czech Republic was better than B&H.For the additional qualifications for the World Championship, B&H was stopped by Hungary in 2009, and four years later for the World Championship in Spain they lost against Germany.In addition to the B&H team in the European qualifications, Romania is the only other team that qualified for the World Championship 2015.B&H’s opponent in the third quest for participation at the World Championship will be known in the lottery barrage on 26 January in Denmark, on the last day of this year’s European Championship. The first games of the barrage for placement at the World Championship will take place on 7 and 8 June, and rematches on 14 and 15 June 2014.(Source: Fena)last_img
