Cerritos men’s tennis nets another win

first_imgThe Falcons put themselves in good position after winning four of the six singles matches, led by Jeffrey Vachirajongkol (6-1, 6-1), Chris Chutikorn (6-2, 6-1), Jackie Vachirajongkol (6-3, 6-3) and JC Duaz (6-2, 6-0). Cerritos rounded out the win by sweepings all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-9. The Cerritos College men’s tennis team is still undefeated – kind of. The Falcons posted a 7-2 nonconference victory over Saddleback College on Tuesday afternoon for their third straight victory. However, Cerritos is just 3-2 overall, having had to forfeit its first two matches. SOFTBALL Cypress 4 LBCC 0 Pitcher Alyssa Gutierrez tossed a two-hitter with seven strikeouts, leading the Chargers (3-0) over the Vikings (2-5) in a nonconference game. Brooke Pefley was 3 for 4 with two RBI as Cypress touched up LBCC starter Brittni Rodriguez for 12 hits and four runs. BASEBALL center_img Cypress 10, Southwestern 0 Starter Alex Curry allowed just three hits over 6 1/3 innings and three relievers combined to close out a four-hit performance as the Chargers (7-2) routed Southwestern (5-4) in a nonconference matchup. Brandon Laird and Tyler Marmion each had two RBI and Jason Schaniel scored three runs to support the fine pitching effort. MEN’S VOLLEYBALL LBCC 3, S.D. Mesa 0 Sophomore middle blocker Richard Camerlengo and freshman outside hitter Joe Strotman each had nine kills to lead the visiting Vikings (3-0) to a 30-18, 30-24, 30-22 nonconference victory.
