MCCONALOGUE PRAISES FIRST STEPS TO HIGH SPEED BROADBAND NETWORKS

first_imgThe first steps have been taken in the effort to have the Metropolitan Area Networks’s for broadband lit in Buncrana and Carndonagh, Deputy Charlie McConlogue now believes. His comments came following a successful public meeting last night in Buncrana, which was organised by Deputy McConalogue and where local businesses and public sector organisations where represented along with other public representatives.Commenting on the meeting McConalogue said, “It was a productive meeting in that it was about communicating the benefits of the networks to organisations. “Niall Beirne, the e|net representative gave us a full overview of where the networks are currently at. It was informative and it highlighted the further need to work together to make the business case to have the MAN’s lit”.“By working together we can not only communicate the benefits of the networks but also work towards bringing down the costs of the service which are an inhibiting factor at present.“Key to this is to further determine the real level of demand which exists both among private organisations and publically owned organisations. The meeting last night was a useful first step in this process.“It is unacceptable that we are in a situation whereby we have the infrastructure available to us but not in a position to use it. “We need to move towards a solution to this and I believe the interest and support shown to date has been heartening and a collective effort will be instrumental in achieving a result”, concluded McConalogue.EndsMCCONALOGUE PRAISES FIRST STEPS TO HIGH SPEED BROADBAND NETWORKS was last modified: September 27th, 2011 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:broadbanddeputy charlie mcconaloguelast_img
